A Call to Environmental Responsibility
As individuals who live on this planet, it is our responsibility to take care of it. The earth provides us with food to eat, air too breath, and water to drink in order for us to survive. As Lucy Maud Montgomery said from her novel 'Anne of Green Gables', "Every little thing has a value all its own". This specific quote encapsulates the idea of appreciating the value of every single living thing and how treating the environment and all its elements with care is essential. That's what must be done. We must value our home planet as much as it values the living things that live on it. Through this blog, different actions that contributes to preserving the earth will be highlighted.
This photograph shows a picture of me participating in a coastal clean-up activity. As much as many of us appreciate the ocean and the life that lives in it, we must also take actions towards protecting it. As simple as picking up trash along the coast, we can contribute to mitigating the effects of pollution, protecting marine life, and preserving coastal areas.
This photograph shows my friends and I conducting a clean-up drive on areas in our barangay. Trash scattered around places is a common problem. However, it must not be normalized. A great method of solid waste management includes as simple as picking up trash in our surroundings. This, again, is a small step towards lessening the problems regarding solid wastes.
This photograph was taken during the YES-O camp in our school. It is advisable for us students to join in activities such as environmental related camps. Raising awareness regarding the importance of preserving the environment is as essential as taking actions towards it. It is encouraged that we become environmental activists starting from our young age. There is no other people that the future generation trusts other than us. So as long as we still can, we must raise awareness and take actions towards protecting the only home we will ever know for the wellbeing of the future generations.
Recycling is one of the simplest yet best thing we could do for the environment. This picture is an example of recycling. Instead of throwing away used plastic bottles, I made us of them through crafting them into hanging planters. Many plastic wastes are discarded on places such as the ocean. This could endanger marine life. So in order for us to protect the environment from plastic wastes, we must recycle.
Have you noticed that simple actions such as the one in the photographs above could greatly impact the environment? This photo blog shows that even our small gestures could work our way up to preserving our home planet. So it is encouraged that we, especially the youth, raise our awareness and take actions in protecting the environment. Humans are the ones who continuously endanger the earth, so it is our responsibility to make up for it. . Let us work together in protecting our home.
