Aim High, Fly, Soar, ISNHS!

Ilocos Sur National High School's Foundation Day was a day to remember! This year, we celebrate the 122nd anniversary of our school. Established over a century ago, ISNHS serve as a symbol for the academic excellence, legacy, and achievements of the Province of Ilocos Sur. Celebrating the ISNHS day together as students, teachers, staff, and alumni, we commemorate the unending legacy of ISNHS to serve as the guide for students towards their success. The spirit of togetherness shines through this celebration, which emphasizes the influence of education in shaping our future.

First up, students of all grade levels, teachers, and the members of the royal court gathered for a parade. As tiring as the long walk was, it was worth it as it was our first time to participate in our school's parade. Watching people welcome us with their smiles as we walk pass them felt great. During the parade, a contest took place. The most disciplined section during the parade will receive Php 1000. Gladly, 10-Marconi won the title! I say we deserved the title as we truly are disciplined students.

Last year's ISNHS Day was great, but nothing beats this year's celebration. ISNHS showed their celebration through performing festival dances, not only from Ilocos Sur, but also from other provinces in the country. Each grade level performed a certain festival dance to showcase the rich and vibrant culture of Filipinos. Grade 7 students showcased the Ilocos Norte Festival, grade 8 showcased students the Panagbenga Festival, grade 9 students showcased the Ilocos Sur Festival and lastly, grade 10 students showcased the Sinulog Festival. All efforts and patience staying under the hot sun during practice was worth it. Although Grade 10 girls didn't acquire the champion title, performing in front of the ISNHS family was already a victory. The fact that we were able to demonstrate our dedication, talents, and solidarity and perform well are enough to call us champions. Also, congratulations to grade 10 boys for being the champion in our field demonstration.

However, the fun doesn't end there. Both teachers and students conducted a concert for a cause. They collected Php30 for the tickets. All the funds will be given to certain establishments aimed at helping people. You get to attend a concert AND help people. Although I wasn't able to finish the concert, my short time watching their performances was truly fun. Both Marconi and Maxwell's band performed on the stage in front of the ISNHS family. Another victory for Marconinans! Marconians are full of smart and talented students. Thanks to this concert, we were able to showcase that.

In summary, the 122nd Foundation Day celebration of Ilocos Sur National High School was a huge success. It reminded us of our school's long history and the values we uphold. From the fun parade to the cultural performances and the charity concert, we all came together to celebrate as one community. This celebration wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the teachers and students' shared efforts. Let's keep these values alive as we move forward and continue to make our school proud. Cheers to many more years of success and togetherness!
