Naive or Necessary? Why Young Idealism is the Key to Progress

What you see above is a quote from one my favorite shows that left a lasting impression. In a corrupt environment, it might be easier for one to go along with the flow, even if it contradicts one's personal beliefs. With so much arrogance, one may feel discouraged to hold different values than those in power. This resonates deeply with young people such as myself.

When we were born, we entered a world with pre-shaped values and beliefs, and more often than not, these values and beliefs aren't aligned with our ideals. They firmly believe that we are too young and idealistic for the "real world." That we haven't seen the real hardships of  "adulthood." Nowadays, the youth are aware of how corrupt our society is. Some join rallies and are really into voicing out their opinion, especially in politics. Simply put, we don't turn a blind eye on the real problems of our world. However, older generations continuously discourage the youth and hold back our great potential. The things is, wanting a fair and just society isn't naive, it's what make our society better.

It is necessary that we break through these barriers. Firstly, by forming strong communities and online networks, we can share ideas, support each other, and spread our voices. Secondly, educating ourselves on effective communication can help us bridge the generational gap and present our ideas in a way that resonates with adults. Finally, focusing on achievable goals and creating solutions for local problems that demonstrates our capabilities and commitment to positive change. By working together, learning, and taking action, young people can overcome discouragement and become a powerful force for a more just and equitable world.

Despite having a society that prioritizes power and self-interest, become a person who chooses fairness and humility over any other matters. The world needs the idealism and passion of young people. We are the generation that can challenge the corrupt norms and push for a better future. Let's not be discouraged by negativity. Instead, let's use it as a motivation to build stronger communities,  strengthen our communication skills, and focus on creating real change, one achievable goal at a time. Together, we can prove that wanting a fair and just world isn't naive – it's what makes a brighter tomorrow. Let's make our voices heard and become the powerful force for positive change the world needs.
